Dr. Dayna Hazlewood received her undergraduate education from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor in Physiology and minor in Neuroscience.
She earned her doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, where she focused on service by working as an ambassador for the university and volunteering in events such as the Special Olympics and eye care clinics to the local underserved community. Her training provided her with a broad range of experience as she interned with honors at a VA Medical Center, a surgical co-management site, a private practice and the United States Navy Medical Center.
Dr. Hazlewood is devoted to serving the needs of adults and their children with a special interest in binocular vision, dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, contact lenses, diabetes exams, LASIK and cataract evaluations and emergency eye care. Dr. Hazlewood is one of the first in Nebraska to provide neurolens® technology to treat and manage headaches, tired eyes, neck/back stiffness, dizziness, and light sensitivity.
Although a Wyoming native, Dr. Hazlewood has chosen Nebraska to be her home. She is actively involved in the Papillion Area Lion's Club and Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce, with the goal of promoting the growth and health of the community she serves. In addition, Dr. Hazlewood is a member of the American Optometric Association, Nebraska Optometric Association and College of Vision and Development. She lives with her fiancé Justin and their energetic cattle dog, Freckles. Dr. Hazlewood enjoys many of the local parks, spending time with family and friends, snowboarding, hiking, live music, and football.
