Dr. Kate Holthaus graduated from Duchesne Academy and later earned her Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Dr. Kate Holthaus is an Omaha native who is devoted to provide exceptional eye care to her hometown. Dr. Holthaus earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she graduated among the top in her class. She was awarded the Most Outstanding Student Award in 2017 and was an active member of the Beta Sigma Kamma optometric honors fraternity. Dr. Holthaus was also very active throughout her years in optometry school, being an active member of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society, American Optometric Student Association, and Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, where she completed an optometric mission trip to Roatan Honduras in 2018. She is an active member of the American and Nebraska Optometric Associations and provides no-cost InfantSEE exams for infants between 6-12 months of age.
Dr. Holthaus offers a wide range of services, including routine eye exams for children and adults and soft and specialty contact lens evaluations. She also provides LASIK and cataract evaluations, glaucoma exams, macular degeneration management, diabetic exams, and emergency eye care. She has a particular interest in the treatment and management of dry eye disease and binocular vision disorders.
Dr. Holthaus absolutely loves the Omaha community and aims to get very involved now being back in the metropolitan area. She consistently looks for ways to serve the community and give back to her hometown. She and her soon-to-be husband, Dr. Jared Holthaus, will get married in May and can't wait to establish their life together in Omaha. They enjoy everything outdoors and cheering on the Creighton Bluejays!
